Mental Health & ADHD Management

Comprehensive Support Combining Medication and Psychotherapy

Our clinic provides integrated care for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, and stress-related symptoms, combining both medication and psychotherapy.
We incorporate therapeutic approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Havening Techniques®, and help restore mind–body balance through lifestyle adjustments and mindset shifts.

Regarding ADHD medication, as of 2025, we can prescribe stimulant medication only to those who:

  • have already been diagnosed with ADHD by a psychiatrist in New Zealand, and
  • have been recommended stimulant medication by that psychiatrist.

For other types of ADHD medication, we can prescribe them if you already have a confirmed ADHD diagnosis.

3 Requirements for ADHD Consultations (for those seeking stimulant medication)

📝 Psychiatric diagnosis letter from New Zealand

You must provide a diagnostic letter from a psychiatrist or child psychiatrist in New Zealand that clearly states both the ADHD diagnosis and a recommendation for stimulant medication (methylphenidate, dexamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine).
If you are visiting from overseas, please also submit the diagnostic report from when you were diagnosed, along with a recent report from your primary care doctor.

Note: We cannot issue the very first stimulant prescription in New Zealand.

🔑 Special Authority (SA) number

If you hold a visa that entitles you to free public healthcare, you will need an SA number for government-funded prescriptions. If you already have one, please provide the number.
If you are not eligible for public healthcare, a stimulant recommendation from a New Zealand psychiatrist or paediatrician is still required.

📂 Submission of required documents before your first appointment

Please submit your diagnostic letter, SA number, and any other required documents before your initial consultation. Once we have reviewed them, we will inform you whether we can proceed and explain the next steps.

Our Approach

  • We combine medication and psychotherapy, aiming to improve overall quality of life.
  • Medication-only treatment is possible, but if you are seeking medication alone, we may refer you to another clinic.
  • The goal is not only symptom relief, but also restoring self-management skills and self-confidence.

Psychotherapy Approaches

IFS(Internal Family Systems)

A therapeutic model that focuses on the various “parts” within the mind, aiming to understand and harmonise their roles and conflicts. Used for a wide range of conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions, and chronic pain.

Havening Techniques®

A psychosensory approach using touch and imagery to calm the amygdala’s responses, helping reduce trauma memories and fear reactions. Applied to acute stress, phobias, grief, and more.

Additional approaches such as ACT, CBT, and coaching may be incorporated where appropriate, ensuring medical safety.
Please note: In some cases, we may not be able to accept you for treatment.

Before Booking a Session

  • As of August 2025, General Practitioners in New Zealand are not permitted to diagnose ADHD.
  • Therefore, this clinic cannot provide an initial ADHD diagnosis or issue the first prescription for stimulant medication.
  • If you wish to consult us regarding ADHD management, you must submit your diagnostic letter, SA number, and any other required documents before your first visit.
  • After reviewing your documents, we will inform you whether we can proceed and outline the initial treatment plan.
  • Initial mental health consultations are usually about 60 minutes and conducted online.
